i savored my time in oklahoma, because while it’s not a horrible place, it’s somewhat unlikely that i’ll ever be back- the travel backlog is just too big.

during the summer of 2019, i listened to the song “everywhere but on” by matt stell MANY times. maybe it was an accident, maybe i was brainwashed, but i ended up visting all of the places he mentioned in the song. this is from the “colorado skies” part of the song/tour
spring forward
not very far from my house on Easter Sunday. i realized that spring isn’t really its own season, it’s all the rest of them smushed together, and unfortunately, that includes winter.
you make me wanna
this post’s title is a very oblique reference to the song “cruise” by florida georgia line, beause this was taken on a cruise. a very short cruise, with the goal of seeing whales and dolphins off the coast of san diego about 3 weeks ago. didn’t see any marine mammals, but we did catch this really nice sunset.

this is mt tamalpais, near sausalito which incidentally, is also the name of my 4th favorite pepperidge farm cookie.
the bayou
i learned that you need to watch your step while on the bayou, i almost crushed this lil guy/gal! this lizard (i don’t know what kind it is) lives in the gulf islands national seashore, not far from biloxi, MS.

this isn’t in colorado, but being here reminded me of the florida georgia line song of the same name, since that song references the great smoky mountains in tennessee. i snapped this on the tennessee side of the TN/north carolina border.
the emerald city
i’d say seattle is the city/metro area i know 3rd best, behind MSP and San Diego. but i got to see it in a new way on a super fun boat cruise i went on back in 2018.
