i thought my first real camera (the sony RX100V) was busted but turns out it’s not! found this snap on the memory card and i like it.
mission accomplished
this was one of those times when i saw exactly what i hoped to see- an elk in north dakota. the night before i even heard it bugle a bit!
snowliage
I first heard the term “snowliage” earlier this week, but I first witnessed it a couple years back in New Hampshire.
where I come from
this post is an exercise in productivity. shot this morning (overlooking the Mississippi River), posted tonight. it’s also the 2nd straight post with a title borrowed from a Montgomery gentry song.
my town
just outside of “my town”, redwood falls, MN. I only lived there for 3 years and a summer, but what a formative time that was. Visiting feels like the closest to time travel that i’ll ever get, the memories of my time there were so long ago that sometimes they feel like dreams.
north shore midnight view
I went up here on a hunch that i’d see the northern lights (I didn’t), but this was a very nice consolation prize!
one of y'all
every single of of y’all, Colorado, Arkansas, missisippi, Wichita (mountains), i’m right there with you. i’m still surprised at how fruitful my short time in central OK was, in terms of photography and eating down home cooking.
this was taken last summer, I wonder what this deer is up to now?
another animal friend
new year, new post
Panama City, Panama. 2k22
not that it does or should matter to you, but i think this is the “best” landscape photo i’ve done. near seward, AK.
alaska 2k18
nice lil fall jaunt along the st croix river!
taylor's falls
recently
shot at a semi-secret location pretty close to downtown St. Paul. it was very cool to see this, and also very cool to hear the chicks chirping while they waited for the mom eagle to tear up the fish!
glacier 2k19
highline trail - the hike of a lifetime!
wild cattle
listening to some fusion jazz and editing pics of cattle… this is a real life “wild” longhorn from oklahoma.
fall 2k20(continued)
it’s spring around here, which means i’m still working through all the pics i took last fall.
this is NOT a flower blog
maybe this is a flower blog, you tell me!
west yellowstone
just west of yellowstone, somewhere in idaho
spring?
is it true? is spring really here?
silver status
in late 2019, i flew to denver to preserve my silver frequent flyer status (the lowest status you can have). now i look back at that trip as one symbol of what i’ve missed out on in these “during” times. i thought nothing of hopping on a plane almost on a whim and being back in my own home less than 24 hours later. these days, on my gov’t approved walks through the woods, i’m happy to see 3 or 4 deer. on a random morning just outside of denver, with no planning, i saw this huge herd of elk. i was so fortunate and couldn’t fully appreciate it until now.
honest abe
this week made me want to post something patriotic. it was a long standing hope that i’d get to visit all 50 states, and shortly after i did that, i passed through Washington, DC, which was kind of like a bonus level.
